Obligatory Easter Stuffing

It’s Easter! Well, I don’t know if it is…you see, where I’m from, it’s Easter next week. However, next week I’m going to this 60s Mustang show. Also, it’s the day before school and I don’t want a moody Easter. So we’re celebrating it today.

I don’t shove food in myself. I don’t over eat. I’m too critical of my body, I mean c’mon, I’m a Virgo. However, on celebrations it’s different. Remember when on Christmas I wrote I was gonna starve the whole day then pig out at dinner? Well, that motive’s made a comeback!

I woke up today to find my parents happily devouring some delicious Easter eggs and other Easterly things along with their breakfast (which looked glorious). I just sat there, staring. I didn’t even have lunch, while they smiled at their garlic bread. Tonight, I’m gonna stuff my pie-hole. I’m gonna eat EVERYTHING!

Anyway, since I’m not eating right now and am STARVING, I needed something to distract myself with, so I played poker. I beat their asses soooo bad! In the end I closed the app, doing a little Michael Jackson dance to celebrate.

Iv seen so many YouTube vids to celebrate Easter, including one with this guy trying all these sweets…which turn out to be so disgusting. I think you should watch it, it’s called Easter Tat Special | Ashens. I would give you a link or put the vid here, but you know what iPads are like.

And since Zeddie Little (ridiculously photogenic guy) is going viral and I’m poker fuelled right now, let’s celebrate that with a meme.

How I bathed in my new Christmas socks.

Hey everyone!

So it’s Christmas- finally. The only thing I’m looking forward to is the roast turkey.

My parents promised me wonderful things- yet this morning I got clothes, socks, some book and a magazine and an iTunes gift card. Sounds good- right? Yeah, but it doesn’t look good when you were promised money, iPad things and rings.

So here’s a list of things I wanted and what I actually got:

iPad Cover- “I’m sorry, the one we ordered stunk of old leather.”

Book on drawing- I got a classic.

A goddamn normal watch- “There weren’t any.” (are you kidding me?)

A normal ring that costs no more than £5- They’re all ugly.

You can probably sense that I feel very negative today :/ I hope dinner is nice, though. I haven’t ate all day so I can pig out tonight :D

My mother made that ritual bread I was talking about in the last post, and I’m not even kidding- you could use it as a spare tire.

Sigh. See you all later I guess.

Christmas Eve!

Tonight is Christmas Eve! I don’t know if any one reading this does this…but in my tradition (I’m from Bulgaria), we sit down to eat meatless things.

It’s called a ritual table, and it has 7, 9 or 11 meatless dishes. They can be: bean soup, cabbage leaves or peppers stuffed with rice, boiled wheat, pumpkin pastry, dried plums, garlic, honey, walnuts, wheat, fruit, rite bread, cheese pastry or cabbage pastry. Some families leave the table set all night – as the dead come for supper (creepy, I know).

The oldest person in the family hands around the ‘ritual bread’ (it’s tastier than chocolate- no kidding!) from the oldest person to the youngest. That means I get my piece last, and by then I’m practically drooling all over the table.

Read more about this here.

Anyway, today I’m barely eating so I can stuff my face at dinner time. If you saw the things served you would want to dive into the food. Don’t try it though, no one appreciates it (learnt it the hard way).

I’v made Christmas cards for my parents, and even decorated the wrapping paper (only to have it ripped apart tomorrow by my parents in the excitement of receiving a new calculator or knitting magazine).

I sure hope that my folks don’t turn on the news while we’re eating, I don’t feel like being updated about the debt crisis or Gordon Brown’s new haircut. I hope they turn on the music channel, I hope they’re playing old Christmas songs, and I really really hope they don’t put on the Justin Bieber Christmas song covers. :/

Have a nice Christmas Eve people, and I’ll post again tomorrow (after drowning in my new socks glorious presents).

Christmas?

It’s only November 16th, but it seems like the shops don’t know that.

I don’t understand shops. I walk around in Sainsburys, or Next, whatever, and all I see are Christmas posters and Christmas deals. It’s not Christmas yet, there’s a whole month and a half till Christmas.

Yet these people feel the need to start celebrations from now. They encourage us to start our Christmas shopping in the middle of November.

It’s the same with summer. I find clothes shops very bizarre. I don’t know if this happens over where you lot live, but the day after Christmas, shops start loading up on clothes and objects related to the next celebration, whether it be 1 week or 1 year away. Last year, one day after Christmas, we started seeing Valentines Day t-shirts hung up on mannequins.

After Valentines Day passed, Easter related things made their way to the shelves. Same with summer clothes. Exactly after Easter, they started selling flip flops with ice-cream and beach ball cartoons on them. Seriously? I mean are these people for real?

Ok, I guess I’m being quite mean, as I myself can’t wait for the Christmas hits to be playing on the music channels, and find myself groaning out loud when I don’t see them every day.
